Old Man Time
A life lived, a dream dreamt;
Money earned, and money spent;
A widen'd river, the setting sun;
Work ended and work begun,
Who else - but Old Man Time?
Greying hair and a wrinkled face,
Heighten'd trees and a dying race,
An old life buried, a new one born;
A dying bird on a freezing morn,
Who else - but Old Man Time?
-Ruth Derrett.
